Home to a treasure trove of mineral resources, some of the world’s largest fossil fuel reserves, ores of metals, gems and previous stones along with an equally rich biodiversity Africa is a region with great potential. Its multitude of regional and socio-economic challenges notwithstanding, the continent is taking successful strides of growth and development in the 21st century.
For any emerging and developing region, access to power and water is critical. It is on the strength of these pillars that other sectors like manufacturing, engineering, trade, infrastructure, and many more grow, thrive and drive the economy ahead.
But what happens in a region like Africa whose countries lack adequate access to these basic utilities and when available, a stark urban-rural divide hinders equitable distribution?
Development projects take shape and form with national governments working together in cooperation, to get power transmission lines and water pipelines up and running and improve their availability, accessibility and affordability.
What is of essence to the success of these projects is a trusted logistics partner like Allcargo Logistics who brings to the table not just experience but a spirit of innovation and ingenuity while tackling complex challenges and project movements. A team that can effectively and efficiently carry out trans-country movement of huge and complex project cargo across the continent, and offer end-to-end factory-to-foundation movements carried out safely and on-schedule.
Allcargo’s global aspirations have been driven by the aim to create opportunities, partner progress and lend its expertise to projects that power a transformation for the better. And it is this futuristic perspective and approach that has led the company to make its name in Africa’s vast logistics industry.
Gaining strength from similarities
Just as Africa is a continent of diversity, India too is a land of diversity. The infrastructural gaps and challenges faced in India while reaching seemingly inaccessible sites where important projects are likely to be located are mirrored at almost the same level in Africa too.
Being among India’s industry leading logistics companies that have contributed to major developmental projects and ensured their timely completion, gives Allcargo the depth, understanding and rich experience that it can leverage while operating in a similar developing economy like Africa and setting up water pipelines and power transmission lines.
Just as it has creating unique synergies among partners, customers and stakeholders in India, Allcargo’s forward strides in Africa too are characterised by vital partnerships and close collaboration within the logistics ecosystem.
Bolstered by a global network
Carrying out intra-country transportation of Over-Dimensional Cargo (ODC) in the African continent can get tricky to handle owing to the difference in rules, regulations and customs procedures. During such times, local expertise and guidance at both, the origin and destination country proves to be a vital competitive advantage.
What sets Allcargo apart and equips it perfectly to offer seamless project logistics solutions is its global network that operated through more than 300 offices in over 160 countries. Through its wholly-owned global subsidiary ECU Worldwide, Allcargo has a presence in most of the major African trade centres and benefits from the expertise and experience of its own team members at every stage of the cargo shipment transportation.

We’ve taken on a gamut of challenging responsibilities and we take them very seriously because after all, these are projects that exemplify Africa’s progress and we consider it a privilege to be able to contribute”, says Rahul Rai Head – Business Development – Project Logistics Division, Allcargo Logistics.
