The funtainer rocks

Funtainer delights ECU Worldwide clients in Fremantle, Australia It packs in ECU Worldwide’s passion for customer service, with a dash of fun. Funtainer, the innovative creation launched with much fanfare in Mumbai in September 2016, set off on its global voyage and dropped anchor for its first stop in Australia this month. The port of calling was Fremantle and true to its spirit, the Funtainer was introduced to ECU Worldwide’s clients and associates with a rocking party on June 23.

More than 120 customers turned out for the Funtainer night at The Italian Club, where they experienced the lighter side of the freight business that Funtainer represented, before letting their hair down for an evening of good cheer and revelry. The cold winter breeze was no deterrent for the ECU customers, who partied into the night and made it a truly memorable event. Street acrobatics, fire juggling, DJ belting out hits and fantastic hospitality were the order of the day, even as representatives from leading freight companies, regular suppliers and port officials of Fremantle enjoyed the party. “The Funtainer is such an innovation; that’s exactly how you need to think to differentiate your product offering in this climate,” said Rory Chandler from K Line (Australia), adding that ECU’s clearly at the forefront of many things including innovative stakeholder engagement. “ECU is the exact type of partner we want to work with moving forward,” Ms Chandler said.

The Funtainer experiential event-based concept is part of ECU Worldwide’s objective to redefine and re-energise the global transport and logistics industry. The idea is to reassure clients that geographical distances and constraints will not come in the way of business growth.With this activation, ECU aims to get its customers, partners and employees to interact with the brand and understand it better. The effort is to demonstrate that logistics is a business of networks and ECU Worldwide is better equipped to serve its customers all over the world. “The Funtainer rocks. Make it an annual event,” said another Fremantle guest Kelly Thomas from Transitainer WA.

The Funtainer will travel around the world to celebrate ECU’s renewed commitment to its clients as ECU Worldwide. The customers have been the driving force behind the company’s growth and success. And the Funtainer is celebrating this unshakeable bond and association.

In the months to come, the Funtainer will sail across oceans and visit different countries. The cool container

The Funtainer was prepared at ECU’s Container Freight Station near Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) near Mumbai, India. What first looked like a normal 20ft container was transformed into a ‘cool’ one with elements of fun and entertainment. That’s how it was decided to call it the Funtainer.

There are party lights, provision for a DJ console and a bar-counter in the Funtainer. When the Funtainer reaches a port, the local ECU team will organise a party for customers, partners and employees. Captain Funtastic, the mascot of Funtainer, says, “If we can ship fun, we can ship anything.”

The Funtainer is built to function on 220/110 volts capability, complying with international standards.
